EUROPE there's no shortage of things to do in Europe: From riding an Alpine train in Switzerland and driving along Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way to munching on falafel sandwiches in Paris, there are so many experiences to soak up. In fact, one lifetime feels like it’s hardly enough.

As we stay closer to home for the time being, dreaming of trips past and eagerly looking forward to European jaunts of the future, we couldn't help but reminisce on the experiences that have made us fall in love with Europe time and time again. Below, we've narrowed down the continents many places, dishes, and sights, into a list of our 51 favorite things to do in Europe. Plan a perfect getaway in a place where the sun shines all year. Explore Qatar’s pristine beaches, enjoy relaxed activities, and pamper yourself at the many wellness retreats.

Switzerland

Switzerland an amazing natural beauty of the majestic Alps, the placid lakes, quaint villages, cosmopolitan cities and towering castles – that's just some of what Switzerland has to offer. Add to it some shopping, wine tasting, delectable chocolates and cheeses and it gets even better.

Geneva is slick and cosmopolitan and maybe that’s why it is often mistaken to be the capital of Switzerland. A beautiful city in the French speaking part of Switzerland, with the amazing backdrop of the Alps, Geneva is known for many things apart from watches, chocolate, cutlery and of course, its lakeside scenery. This historical city is the site for many UN agencies. St. Pierre, a medieval cathedral dating back to the 4th century is the highlight of the Old Town. Lake Geneva, with the impressive 140 meter fountain Jet d’Eau, is the symbol of Geneva. Enjoy the view of the snow covered Mt. Blanc at 4,810 metres, making it the highest peak in Europe.

Go for many nature walks along the lake and through the Bois-de-la-Bâtie, a 30 acre forest in the middle of the city. Visit one of the many chocolatiers in Geneva to get a fill of your sweet cravings. Geneva is also home to CERN, the largest scientific research centre in the world, where the “God Particle” was found.

Turkey

Turkey if you’re planning a trip to Turkey, you might wonder where to go. Here are a few places to visit in the country, including Istanbul, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Sitting astride two continents, a position that has given rise to a culture that reflects both East and West, our holiday packages to Turkey show a country where European aspirations mix comfortably with Asian traditions. With a heritage stretching farther back than the Byzantine Empire and even the Trojan War, the country we now know as Turkey has seen some of the most important events in all of human history.

As in many Romance languages, personal pronouns can be omitted, and they are only added for emphasis. The length and the softening of vowels are conveyed through this one sign in standard writing. Even then it is only used in certain words or phrases nowadays. For that reason we have used two different signs and have put it at every point where needed, to help the new learner.
